Bridging the Gap

In what parts of your life are you disappointed by the gap between where you are and where you want to be spiritually?

 Be honest!

We all have those places. Most of us wander through life with wishes, dreams, and goals, but without a strategy. We all have “things” in our lives that are hindering us from getting us to where we want to go or should go.

Don’t be satisfied, paralyzed, or complacent about these disappointments! God has and individual plan for your life and has provided a way to get to fulfillment.

In the next few days, we will consider how to bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be, spiritually.  That is what Upward Training is all about!

This week in Upward Training, consider this model for bridging the gap:

                                Identify:  Discovering the Gap

Analyze:  Evaluating ways I have tried to bridge the gap. What has worked? What do I need to throw away and start anew?

Strategize: What is my plan for gap management?

But for now, take a few minutes to meditate on these passages:

Philippians 1:6
… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
